Janice Kay Johnson - Woman in Blue

The people of Elk Springs, Oregon, thought Ed Patton was a good man, a good
cop, a good father.
But his daughters know the truth.
Renee Patton feels she has to prove to everyone--especially herself--that
even though she's a cop, she's nothing like her father.
It's definitely a full-time job, leaving her no time or inclination for a
social life.
But that changes when she meets rancher Daniel Barnard.
Daniel's the first person who's ever made Renee long for another kind of
life--a life that doesn't revolve around her uniform.
Suddenly she realizes she might just have found the one man who's willing
to take on Patton's daughter.
Everything would be perfect--if only Daniel's mother wasn't involved in the
case Renee's investigating.

Harlequin - Janice Kay Johnson - Whose baby

O+ O does not = B. So why was she even nervous?
Oblivious to the salt-scented breeze and the familiar whoosh of the broken surf, Lynn Chanak stared at the envelope in her hand.Open it , she told herself. Then you can quit worrying about nothing .
And nothing was just what it would prove to be.
That Portland lab had mixed up somebody else's blood with Shelly's. It was dumb to let the results shake her even for a minute. Poor Shelly had had to endure being stuck with a needle again, which still made Lynn mad, but it was done, over with, and now with the results from the new lab she'd be able to refute her ex-husband's ridiculous accusation.

Janice Kay Johnson - The Miracle Baby

"Are you Mr. Nathan McCabe?"

The man who stood on Nathan's front porch was young, sandy-haired, a little soft around the middle. His face was unfamiliar, but pleasant enough. Your average Joe.

"That's right," Nathan agreed a little warily, his hand gripping the open door. Salesmen didn't know your name.

The man extended a card. "Richard Clayton, private investigator."

Janice Kay Johnson - [Under One Roof -1] - Taking A Chance

Jo Dubray has a major phobia about marriage and children; she has made no plans concerning either. That doesn't mean that she can't have a little fun with her roommate Kathleen's brother Ryan.

Jo feels that Ryan is a safe relationship. He is recently and divorced and has two children that live in another state. She just knows that Ryan will not want to reconsider getting remarried so soon, but Ryan surprises her and does want to remarry someday and hopefully that special someone will be Jo.

TAKING A CHANCE was a wonderful family story; it not only touches on relationships with children, but relationships concerning adults. As I read I saw Jo grow as a person, she thought due some to misconceptions about her own childhood that she would not make a good wife or mother. In fact Jo was wonderful with Emma and Ginny the two children of her roommates Kathleen and Helen, as well as Ryan's children Melissa and Tyler. Over time she begins to see it as well and this opens up many doors in her relationship with Ryan. Ryan was a wonderful father and I did feel that it was unfair that he was limited visitations with his kids; he also helped Jo overcome her inadequacies showing her that having a family can be just as adventurous as taking a spontaneous vacation or skydiving. I loved this book and it is a definite keeper. I can't wait to read the follow-up THE PERFECT MOM.
